Newport Neurofeedback

Jon Fonseca

Jon Fonseca is a certified neurofeedback therapist who was tutored by Dr. Richard Soutar, one of the field’s pioneers. Jon’s focus is not simply on reducing his clients’ symptoms, but maximizing their brain function and enabling them to pursue their goals and aspirations. For sixteen years, Jon worked at the renowned Whitaker Wellness Institute in Newport Beach, California, where clients came from all over the world seeking cutting-edge therapies. As director of the Institute’s Neurofeedback Department, Jon created over 2,500 qEEGs (Quantitative Electroencephalograms) or Brain Maps, and treated more than 1,200 patients.

Jon’s patients come from many walks of life, some with multiple ailments, some on heavy prescription medication, and range in age from seven to over 90. One of Jon’s special gifts is his ability to translate computer images and test results full of scientific terms into plain language that anyone can understand. He takes the time to explain tests, procedures, expectations and outcomes without rushing, so that his patients feel informed and comfortable during all phases of treatment.

With this same empathy and compassion, Jon also enjoys getting to know his clients and tailoring each treatment accordingly to both improve brain function and inspire well-being. Following the teachings of psychiatrist Norman Doidge, M.D. (The Brain that Changes Itself), Joe Dispenza, Ph.D. (Evolve Your Brain), and authors Darren Hardy, Brendon Burchard, Jon enthusiastically endorses three other practices proven to enhance brain health: meditation, affirmations and physical exercise (cardio-vascular workout and resistance training).  With this comprehensive approach he has successfully treated patients with the following conditions: Anxiety, ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder), ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), Autism, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Insomnia, Memory Problems, Migraines, TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury), OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder), PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder), Stroke, and Tinnitus.

Jon welcomes the opportunity to address your specific needs through neurofeedback and invites you to contact him directly at (562) 810-3662 with any questions or to make an appointment.
