What Is Neurofeedback, Really?
Neurofeedback, in simple words, is nothing but feedback to something neurological – a feedback to the brain and central nervous system. It’s a method of training brain waves to alter the structure and function of the brain, and it is used to help people suffering a variety of conditions, such as insomnia, migraines, ADD/ADHD, or traumatic brain injury.
With neurofeedback, people can change brainwave activity in different areas of the brain. The result is a higher level of awareness, which is key to the whole field – more awareness of the body, of the mind, of what people feel, and what they do – all in a non-invasive manner. It’s an approach where individuals participate in the transformation by exercising their brain in front of a computer. The patient is a catalyst in this change, whereas conventional medicine puts an emphasis on drugs to alter chemical flows in the brain.
We Stimulate Your Brain to Optimize It
With Clear Mind Center equipment, brainwaves are stimulated by light and sound, reaching the visual cortex and ending up with a region of the brain, or the whole brain, resonating in a desired frequency. Neurofeedback will give the brain gentle suggestions, stimulating it to move in a desired direction through a behavioral reward system known as operant conditioning. Ultimately, Neurofeedback is about training the brain to get into an optimized zone and thereby enhancing health and well-being.
